Help protect your children -- and their classmates -- when they're under the weather so that they can return to the classroom healthy and ready to learn.
When your child is sick
The best thing you can do is to keep your children home when sick. This will help stop the spread of illness to other children and teachers. Keep them home when they show any of these symptoms:
fever of 100 degrees F or higher
nausea or vomiting
severe headache
diarrhea
red, watery eyes with yellow or green drainage
undiagnosed rash
Children should stay home until they have been naturally without fever for at least 24 hours. Please do not give children fever-reducing medication and then send them to school.

One of our students lost a very special necklace on Friday before the home football game. If you found it please contact us and we will get you in touch with the family. The most likely area could be: Ellsworth Main Street, roads from Main Street to Ellsworth schools, and playgrounds.

6th graders are practicing the scientific method with various experiments! This one is to determine if more drops of plain or soapy water can fit on a penny.

We are wrapping up National Arts in Education Week by showcasing this beautiful mural at EES.
"You do not just wake up and become a butterfly. Growth is a process.”

Ms. Helgeson's 8th grade class was in the Fab Lab at EHS learning STEM concepts relating to wind and wind energy.

On behalf of the staff, students, and families of the Ellsworth Community School District, I would like to extend a big thank you to Pierce Pepin Cooperative Services for their emergency support that occurred during the first number of days of the school year.
During the first week of school, our district along with some other districts in the state, saw our internet service go down due to a technical glitch with our provider. A call was made to Pierce Pepin representatives who acted quickly to provide us with emergency internet services through their SWIFTCURRENT CONNECT service and we were up and running in a matter of hours. They provided this service to us throughout our week-long outage.
Quality internet service is not only essential to our classrooms today. It is also essential to our abilities to communicate with parents and the public along with our business office operations. If we have no internet, we simply cannot operate in many ways. We now have the capability of creating a system that better ensures continued internet service when there is an issue with one provider’s system.
The recent addition and continued expansion of SWIFTCURRENT CONNECT to our communities have been a great advancement for many families and businesses. It is another example of how local advances and innovation move us ahead as a community.
Thank you again to Pierce Pepin Cooperative Services and SWIFTCURRENT CONNECT for all of the help!
