🩺 A Message from the School Nurse 🩺
We want to remind families about important guidelines to help keep everyone healthy this season:
🌡️ Fever: If your child has a fever of 100.0°F or higher, they should remain at home until they are fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication.
🤢 Vomiting or Diarrhea: If your child experiences vomiting or excessive diarrhea (three or more episodes within 24 hours), they can return to school once they have been free of symptoms for 24 hours.
We’ve been seeing cases of mono, gastroenteritis (stomach flu), Influenza A, strep throat, and respiratory illnesses such as croup and bronchitis.
🔍 Please monitor your student’s health closely before sending them to school. If they are feeling unwell with symptoms like fever, vomiting, or diarrhea, allow them to recover at home to help reduce the spread of illness within our buildings.
Your efforts make a big difference in keeping everyone well. Thank you for your cooperation and care!
🍕 Homemade Pizza, Anyone? 🍕
Mrs. Kinneman's 7th & 8th Grade FACS classes recently rolled up their sleeves and got creative in the kitchen by learning how to make homemade pizza—starting with making their own dough from scratch! 🙌✨
From measuring and mixing ingredients to rolling out their dough and choosing their favorite toppings, students got hands-on experience with this delicious life skill. 🍅🧀🍄
Who else is ready to try making their own pizza at home? 👩🍳👨🍳
Last week, our EMS 6th-grade students participated in the annual Courage Retreat hosted by Youth Frontiers, and it was an unforgettable experience! 🙌
The day kicked off at Zion Covenant Church, where our students were warmly welcomed by enthusiastic high school mentors. 💜 Students were divided into small groups to discuss how they can treat each other better, stay engaged, and stand up for one another.
The retreat was filled with:
🎶 Large group activities featuring music and singing that carried powerful messages.
🤝 Interactive games designed to break down barriers, build trust, and foster teamwork.
💡 Thought-provoking discussions and moments of self-reflection.
By the end of the day, students were challenged to focus on one act of courage they will strive to accomplish moving forward. 💪
A special THANK YOU to the Ellsworth Community School District Foundation for their generous donation, making this impactful day possible. 💖

Let’s come together and support our community! 🙌
At the time of this writing, it is approaching 80 degrees and sunny outside. It doesn't feel like we are approaching November and the conclusion of the first grading period of the school year. We recently held Homecoming Week district-wide and Grandparents’ Day at Ellsworth Elementary, and both were wildly successful. The positive energy and vibes from the students, staff, and parents/grandparents were palpable. Thank you to everyone who had a hand in planning and carrying out these events and activities!
I am pleased to report that the planning related to the budget and the levy has landed where it was projected during the planning phases of the referendum in the 2023-24 school year. The mill rate for the 2024-25 school year will be 7.42, which is actually one penny less than the projected mill rate from the referendum planning that was presented at the January 2024 school board meeting.
The construction project is entering the bidding phase as we look to begin construction and renovations this coming February. You will begin to see more renderings and visual representations of the spaces in the middle and high school. While we are excited to bring this project to fruition, there are always opportunities for partnership. The CTE programs at the middle and high school would benefit from equipment that is often expensive and cannot all be fit into the construction budget. This equipment will support programming that allows students to lead production and learn valuable workplace skills, while also meeting the needs of and supporting the community that supports them. We would welcome industry and community partnerships to address these opportunities. It is an exciting time to be an Ellsworth Panther!
If you are interested in partnering with the programs at the middle and high school, or you know of a business that would be interested, please reach out to me via email, and we will connect you with the right person. You can reach me at nadeaub@ellsworth.k12.wi.us.

We encourage all parents and guardians to stop by and chat with your student's teacher 🧑🏫👩🏫. It’s a great opportunity to hear how things are going during the first few months of school and get valuable insights on their progress 📊✨. Let’s work together to make this year the best one yet! 💪
