This week’s article and video focus on the High School Career and Tech Ed (CTE) projects https://youtu.be/aQzg9fmcdlQ that are being addressed through our April 2nd Facilities Referendum.
A quality CTE program offers students with real-world experiences that prepare them for the many areas of industry and manufacturing. Career and Technical Education courses focus on preparing students for careers in the much needed trades (welding construction, electrical, etc), business, marketing, entrepreneurship, engineering, agriculture, and the culinary industries.
The current 1975 CTE classrooms and labs do not reflect modern work settings or allow for high-quality, real-world experiences for students. The proposed remodeling and expansion of the CTE area will provide our students with centralized collaborative spaces to prepare them for their future careers as well as promote partnerships with many manufacturers and businesses that will provide our economy with a quality workforce.
The past two school years have been spent researching model CTE programs while also visiting other school districts to provide a vision for the projects currently being proposed. We have seen the model of “student-led production” in which students involved in all areas of CTE are working together in a business model to provide a high-quality experience for all students involved no matter their post-high school plans. The proposed projects will assist greatly in the implementation of this model.
If there are any questions about any of the projects being proposed in the April 2nd Facilities Referendum, please visit our referendum website, give me a call at (715)273-3900 or email me at cainb@ellsworth.k12.wi.us. We are also available for tours of the facilities for all interested in looking firsthand at the areas being impacted by the proposed projects.

Please take the time to watch this short (2 ½ minute) informational video as Principal Olin Morrison explains projects at our middle school that are being addressed through our April 2nd Facilities Referendum.
The video provides a good visual look at a number of the conditions to be addressed at the middle school while also providing information about avenues to improve student learning spaces and school safety.
The vast majority of the proposed middle school projects are focused on replacing aging doors, windows, flooring, parking lots, and heating and ventilation (HVAC) systems that were original to the building when it opened nearly 30 years ago.
Other projects include the renovation of our locker bays to create collaborative learning environments while also improving student supervision and safety, renovations to our science labs, and renovations to the Career and Technical Education (CTE) rooms to promote student engagement in courses related to the trades, engineering, and business.
I hope you find the video helpful in better understanding the proposed middle school projects. If there are any questions about any of the projects being proposed in the April 2nd Facilities Referendum, please visit our referendum website, give me a call at (715)273-3900 or email me at cainb@ellsworth.k12.wi.us.

🌾🤝 Sharing, Learning, and Supporting Mental Health in Agriculture! 🚜💬
This past Sunday, February 25th, the Farmer Angel Network of Western Wisconsin, The Webster Family, and the Ellsworth FFA & FFA Alumni came together to host an inspiring afternoon dedicated to mental health within agriculture.
With an incredible turnout of 130 people at the middle school, we were honored to have Jeff Ditzenberger from South Wayne, Wisconsin, as our guest speaker. Jeff's interactive talk resonated with the audience, sparking meaningful conversations about the importance of mental well-being in the farming community.
The positive feedback has been overwhelming, with attendees appreciating the openness and engagement surrounding this crucial topic. We believe that breaking the silence and fostering conversations about mental health is a crucial step toward building a stronger, more supportive agricultural community.
In the spirit of giving back, a free-will donation was collected and all proceeds will be going to the Farmer Angel Network of Western Wisconsin. Your generous contributions will help support mental health initiatives within agriculture, making a positive impact on the lives of those who work tirelessly to feed our communities.
Thank you to everyone who joined us on this empowering afternoon! Let's continue to break down the stigma surrounding mental health and build a network of support for our farmers.
