What an exciting time of year! The anticipation of a new school year, new learning opportunities, new friendships, and more provide the positive energy as we return to learn. Thanks to the Chamber of Commerce, we were able to honor the ECSD staff at the Salute to Educators celebration. This is a wonderful way to show gratitude and appreciation for our staff! The focus on students returning to school begins the last week of August with three interim days. The focus of these days is to establish and cultivate positive relationships between students and staff, conduct team building activities, provide time for students to reacclimate to the school environment, and provide a runway to excellent learning opportunities throughout the year.
There is much to be thankful for as we prepare for students to return. I am grateful for all the work that was completed over the summer in preparation for the 24-25 school year. Our buildings look fresh and clean thanks to our custodial crew. Our transportation fleet is ready to go and has been getting students to and from summer school. The office staff in each building have been working to ensure supplies, materials, schedules, and so much more are in place for enrolled students as well as for students and families new to the district. Many teachers have worked on curriculum improvements and professional learning community practices. Our PKC staff worked tirelessly all summer to provide a positive and caring environment for kids. The IT Crew worked to ensure up-to-date technology tools were in place for all staff and students that needed it. The Food Service crew provided a fantastic lunch for all staff during Inservice. The District Office staff on boarded new hires, enrolled new students, overhauled the business software, and made sure all licensing requirements were met during the summer months. There is so much more, and without missing out on anyone, I want to shout a huge “THANK YOU” to everyone who had a part in the projects that were completed and the preparation to make the ECSD a great place to learn, work, and grow.

My name is Brian Nadeau, and I am humbled by the opportunity to serve as the next Superintendent of the Ellsworth Community School District. My wife, Amy, and I enjoy spending time with our children, grandchildren, extended family, and dogs.
For the past three years, I have served as a Superintendent & MS/HS Principal in the Plum City School District. I'm proud to say I have had the privilege of teaching for 16 years as a middle school science teacher and serving in school leadership for the past nine years.
After graduating from UW-River Falls with a degree in Biology & Science Education, I taught 7th and 8th Grade Science and coached high school football, softball, baseball, and middle school basketball. I earned my master's degree in Educational Administration and Superintendent licensure from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and have completed additional graduate coursework at Hamline University.
As a staunch supporter of activities and athletics as a lever to engage students and improve academic achievement, I was honored to be elected to serve on the WIAA Board of Control as the District 3 Representative. I look forward to building on the strong foundation established in the ECSD, developing the professional learning communities to improve student outcomes, and cultivating positive relationships with all stakeholders as we work to create the best educational system that meets the needs of all learners, both today and into the future.
Go Panthers!

Sports physical opportunities are provided by Western Wisconsin Health! We're happy to have them as a partner in our athletic program!
Student-athletes are required to get a sports physical every other year while participating in middle and high school athletics. These are great low-cost opportunities throughout the summer. Students from any of the schools can attend any of the opportunities!

To register, go to the Ellsworth Community School website here: https://www.ellsworth.k12.wi.us/page/panther-athletics
📚 Our new Ellsworth Middle/High School Athletic Handbook encompasses our newly board-approved Code of Conduct. This handbook will be covered during the upcoming Code Meetings. A copy of it can be found on the athletic website above.
This year, 𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝟲𝘁𝗵-𝟭𝟮𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗧𝗨𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦 participating in school-based athletics must attend one of these two meetings with a parent or guardian. We will NOT be offering opportunities throughout the school year.
🗓 Meeting #1: Wednesday, July 24th @ 6pm in the High School South Gym
🗓 Meeting #2: Tuesday, July 30th @ 6pm in the High School South Gym
Additionally, to participate (practice and games), all student-athletes must have a current physical or alternate year card on file. If you had a physical last year, you need an alternate year card this year. If you had an alternate year card last year, you need a physical on file dated after May 1st, 2024. Both of those forms are available on the Panther Athletics website.
🏥 Thank you to Western Wisconsin Health for hosting a sports physical clinic right here at Ellsworth High School on Thursday, July 25th from 9 am - 12 pm.
If you have any questions, please call the MS or HS offices, or reach out to Kevin Haglund at haglundk@ellsworth.k12.wi.us
